Definitions
Terminology:
The
terms referred to in these rules shall be strictly
defined as stated herein below, unless otherwise stated
in the context.
Race Meeting:
Refers to
any race meeting conducted with the permission of and
under the Rules of the Equestrian Club.
Stewards / Stewards
Committee:
The
Committee selected by High Committee. It takes full
charge of and has complete supervision of racing
in the Equestrian Club.
Trainer:
Trainer
is the person officially licensed for training horses
under These Rules.
Authorized Agent:
Is the
person appointed by the Registered Owner to act on his
behalf as formerly notified to the Equestrian Club.
Blinkers:
Means
a garment fitted over the horse head with holes for eyes
and ears, one or both eye holes being fitted with cowls
cutting out all vision to side and rear, but permitting
full forward vision.
Correct Weight:
Is the
weight, at which a Rider is ‘weighed out’ by the Clerk
of the Scales under these rules.
Cup:
Non-money prizes.
Investigation /Inquiry:
Any
investigations held according to these Rules.
Breeder:
Is a
person or entity who owns the dam when the foal is
dropped (Born).
Race:
Any race
for which a prize in cash or in kind or cup is assigned.
Racing Schedule:
The
bulletin issued in that name by the Equestrian Club.
Recognized Race meeting:
Meeting Conducted for racing with the permission of the
Stewards in Riyadh or Taif.
Registration Office:
The
Department assigned to discharge the duties Listed.
Racing Season:
The
number of recognized meetings throughout the season,
starting in Taif and ending in Riyadh.
Horse:
Refers to
colts, fillies, mares and geldings.
Club:
Refers to
the Equestrian Club Riyadh.
License:
Means and
includes any approval, consent, permission and permit to
act in an official capacity, Train or Ride, given by the
Club.
Owners:
Person or
Persons Company or Establishment under whose name(s) a
horse is registered to Race.
Hood:
Means a
garment similar to blinkers incorporating ear covers but
without eye cowls.
Jockey:
Is a
person licensed by the Club to ride and in the absence
of expressed reference in the context otherwise means a
full or an apprentice Jockey.
Photo:
The
photographic pictures taken at the winning post by a
special camera made for the purpose and approved by the
Stewards Committee.
Prohibited Substance:
Means a substance originating externally whether or not
it is endogenous, and which falls into any of the
categories in a list published as an instruction by the
Equestrian Club. Substances include the metabolites of
the substance and their Isomers.
