Trainers
Article: 61
Every Trainer of a horse running under these rules must obtain from the
Equestrian Club either :
1 ) A Private
Trainers License (
Family ) :
- P. T. should be
not less than 18 years old.
- which is only for those who wish to train their Own,
or their fathers , or their Sons or their Brothers
horses.
- He must own or lease stables from the Club for keeping
and training his horses under his responsibility. The
stables must be in his or his relatives names.
- This License does not qualify him to train any other
Owners horses.
2 ) A General
Trainers License:
- G. T. should be
not less than 21 years old.
(a) General Trainer
having a stable :
Issued to a Trainer who
meets the following requirements:

He must be an owner or lessee of a stable with at least
Five boxes .

He must have at least Five horses in his training under
power of authority given by their owners .
(b) Authorized General
Trainer :
Issued to a Trainer who
wishes to train horses belonging to other owners having
stables for their horses. He must have at least five
horses in training under official written power of
authority by their owners. He shall have the right to
train other horses by approval of their principal
owners.
(c) Authorized Foreign
Trainer :
Issued to foreign Trainers
who are practicing training in the kingdom after
submitting the following documents:

A
certificate of good conduct from the Racing Authority
where he last Trained.

His Principal horse Owner request for a license for him
to act as his Trainer .

A copy of his Passport
and
igama
showing his career.
-
He shall have the right to train other horses by
approval of their principal owners .
A Steward will
visit the stable to assure adequate safety and sanitary
condition before awarding him a license.
Article: 62
Every Assistant
Trainer must be licensed to carry out his duties under
these rules.
Article: 63
All licenses are for a season
(or part season) only.
Application must be accompanied by the annual
fee which is fixed from time to time.
Article: 64
Every Trainer shall
:
a)
Perform his professional duties effectively towards
management of the stables and training of horses, in
addition to complete supervision of stable housekeeping,
feeding, and safety inside the stable.
b)
Be responsible for supervision of his grooms.
c)
Conduct his business and fulfill his responsibilities in
compliance with all directions of his Owners and of the
Equestrian Club.
d)
Meet his commitments towards his work riders.
e)
All participating Trainers and their assistants must
report to the club ( registration office ) at 9am on
Scratch and withdrawal day:
1- Selecting which of
their multiple-entries will be guaranteed a run and not
be subject to ballot ( this applies to Trainers of
Principal Stables only ).
2- Withdrawal of any of
their registered horses .
3- To indicate which of
their Owners multiple-entries will be scratched if
entries exceed the maximum number of runners allowed.
4- Selecting some
horses as reserve if it is necessary.
5- Balloting and taking
position in the starting gate .
f)
Registration of desired Jockeys for their runners .
this will be on Scratch and withdrawal day morning
when balloting and scratching takes place to avoid being
subject to financial penalty.
* Trainers are not
allowed to charge any Jockey after the start of the
first race without the prior permission of the
stewards an hour before the race or two races before
participation of this horse.
g)
Trainers must always complete, stamp and sign the Club's
Official Veterinary form to notify Stewards of
non-runners for veterinary reasons. Failure to do this
could to a fine ( see article 81).
h)
Trainers are responsible for ensuring that their Jockeys
and Grooms wear the correct Owners Uniform and ensuring
its cleanliness. Wearing the wrong uniform will lead to
the Horses withdrawal.
i)
Trainers are responsible for ensuring that the
Saddle-cloth number and Jockeys arm numbers are as in
the Official Programme.
j)
Any breach of this article shall
subject the Trainer to disciplinary action by the
Steward Committee
k)
A Trainer cannot register a horse
to run in a race unless the horse is in his stable and
trained by him at the time and date of registration.
Article: 65
The Trainer has the right to 10% of the prize money
allocated to placing in the first five positions gained
by a horse trained by him and 10% of the value of a car
won.
