Weighing Room Weighing-out Equipment Parade Ring
Weighing Room
Article: 83
a)
No person
shall be admitted to the
weighing room without permission of the Stewards,
except Officials and Owners, Trainers and Jockeys of
horses running.
b)
No person
other than Officials and Jockeys shall be admitted to
the Jockeys changing rooms.
Weighing Out
Article: 84
a)
Jockey
cannot be weighed out for any race unless both he and
his horse are declared to run.
b)
Every Jockey
must be weighed for a specific horse in the weighing
room in good time for the horse to be Saddled and
paraded, Jockey should be weigh with the stable color
on.
Article: 85
The Trainer is
responsible that his horse carries the correct weight
.He must inform the Clerk of the Scales if there is any
difference in the weight his horse should carry and that
stated in the Race Program and the conditions of entry.
Apprentice allowances are not declared on the Race
Program. He shall be fined not less than SR One hundred
(SR.100.00) if he fails to clarify the weight to the
Clerk of the Scales.
Article: 86
The weight of the
Jockey covers every thing worn by the Jockey, and the
saddle with accessories. It does not cover the Jockeys
helmet, the bridle and leg bandages, and blinkers. No
gear that has been put on at scales before the race can
be changed without permission from the Stewards ; in
such cases the Stewards may ask
the rider to re-weigh.
Article: 87
The Clerk of the
Scales shall send a statement of the stated weights for
each race together with a list of the riders giving any
over weighs to the Stewards.
Saddlery
Article: 88
Saddle and accessories
include the girths, surcingle, leathers and stirrups.
Jockeys are responsible for the safe condition of their
saddlery, as for Apprentices the responsibility will be
jointly theirs and their Trainers.
a)
No Rider can
participate in the race without wearing a skullcap and
body protectors approved by the Stewards Committee. The
responsibility is on the Jockey to do so. For
Apprentices the responsibility is carried by both
Apprentices and their Trainers.
b)
Spurs are
not allowed in races. No substitute for a whip is
allowed.
c)
Blinkers
that prevent sight from either side are totally
forbidden; so are eye covers, or any type of head covers
in races.
Horse Numbers
Article: 89
Every horse should
carry a number cloth clearly showing the horse’s number
as indicated in the Race Programme, On both sides of the
back unfolded.
Parade Ring
Article: 90
All horses running in a race shall be saddled in the
saddling boxes and brought into the Parade Ring before
the
signal to mount is given. No horse shall be admitted to
the Parade Ring unless he has been declared as a runner.
